Holy Jamboree Batman!
The Joker's about to
SMASH
the Batmobile!
The focus of Fall Fellowship is always on the box car race. This year's entry had to be amphibious and had to resemble a batmobile. We dedicated several meetings to the construction of our Batmobile. The basic framework was made out of PVC. A black plastic "skin" was applied to make it water tight. Wheels, rocket pontoons, and flames were added. We thought she was ready!
.

So we took the Batmobile out for it's maiden voyage. It floated too well! The pontoons - meant to provide stabilization - were too high!

Emergency alterations were in order. The pontoons were lowered and reconfigured like outriggers. A new wheel was placed on the front and strong springs were added for support. A few more decorations and we were ready!

We anxiously awaited our chance to race!

Although there were a few technical difficulties - the race team showed remarkable ingenuity and team work and we came in second!
